S-TEC People Are the Key

A company like S-TEC is only as good as its employees and S-TEC is proud to have a lot of top notch, well trained, dedicated employees building the autopilots you sell. We'd like to take this chance to introduce you to Robert Adams, an S-TEC Production Technician who has recently won an AEA Education Foundation Scholarship to start his pilot training. Robert won this scholarship with the essay which follows. We thought you'd enjoy reading Robert's essay.

Robert Adams Robert Adams

"As an employee of an avionics manufacturer whose sole purpose is to reduce a pilot's workload thus improving pilot/passenger safety, a private pilot's license will benefit me and my employer by providing an understanding of pilot's needs and workload, acknowledging the architectural aspect of taking the technology to the pilot, being a liaison to other employees, and gaining a relationship of pilot to employee and employee to pilot.

To understand the knowledge of pilot workload, pilot safety and how the inner relationship of the pilot's usage of instruments and radios will be used, can be a great asset to myself and S-TEC. As the complexity of avionics and instruments has increased, the importance of 'cockpit management' has also increased. As a pilot, I will be able to articulate and share practical applications to fellow employees.

In today's electronic age, technology seems like a race against time. As the general aviation industry grows, it also sees many changes. For a company like S-TEC, it is their responsibility to recognize these growths and changes. There needs to be communication between S-TEC and the consumer. For example, GPS is being rapidly introduced into the aviation industry. Many of today's reliable systems will diminish. As a private pilot, I could assist in bridging that gap of knowledge between the customer and developer/producer.

In summary, a company's vision of the future comes from within their employees. The industry, being electronically-oriented, is in a constant state of change. To meet this positive state of change and to clearly see this vision, a company must look beyond its walls and into the market it serves. As a private pilot, I will assist in bringing this vision of the future to my fellow employees and thus S-TEC, to assure growth and a positive future."

Robert is S-TEC's primary production instrument technician. Please join us in congratulating Robert as he begins his pilot training.
