S-TEC's New President and CEO
Richard A. Swingen
S-TEC announced that Richard Swingen was elected to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer effective February 1, 1999. Mr. Swingen was also named to the S-TEC Corporation Board of Directors.
Swingen succeeds David Alexander, who recruited Swingen as an integral part of his succession plan. Alexander plans to pursue other professional and personal goals while he continues in his roles as the President/ CEO of S-TEC Unmanned Technologies, Inc. and as a member of the S-TEC Unmanned Technologies, Inc. Board of Directors.
Swingen joined S-TEC in October of 1998 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He has a wealth of executive experience in several industries including the electronics industry. He was most recently President at Clarostat Sensors and Controls in El Paso. At Philips Broadband Networks he was Vice President of Operations and at Philips Components, also in Mineral Wells, he held the position of General Manager.
Swingen earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from the University of Wisconsin. He is an Instrument Rated Pilot.
