Perceptions
by Dick Swingen, President
Well, 1999 is off to a good start, and I am pleased to be S-TEC's new President and CEO. I look forward to leading S-TEC in new and exciting directions.
One new program that will help you sell more autopilots is our new brochures, which you receive in May. The new brochures are designed to help pilots make a more educated choice when choosing an S-TEC autopilot. Of course, this new program couldn't work without your efforts, and that's why it is important for you to restock your shelves with the new brochures when they become available in May. I'm confident that you will find this new product information system to be a valuable asset in the future.
While our autopilot sales are excellent, we have to continue to march forward and develop new systems, like our helicopter 900RW SAS/SCAS and autopilot system. Keep watching for more news as we enter the certification phase of our development.
The S-TEC Altitude Selector/Alerter is a tremendous help for any pilot in the cockpit. It is able to take on a large amount of pilot workload. That's why we decided to reprint the article from the January 1997 S-TEC Approach. One of the most frequently asked questions at the trade shows is "How does the Selector/Alerter work?" Once the procedure is learned, pilots wonder how they ever lived without one.
S-TEC is expecting an excellent year and with your support, I know that 1999 will turn out to be a great year for both of us. I look forward to meeting many of you at our Dealer Breakfast at the AEA Convention this year in Atlanta. Your invitation is enclosed in this Approach envelope. If I don't see you there, stop by our booth at any one of our upcoming shows. See you there.
