Meggitt Avionics/S-TEC has just completed a 5 month project using a New Piper Aircraft 2001 Mirage resulting in an STC for single side EFIS on the Mirage. The STC installs a MAGIC PFD and ND in the pilot's instrument panel replacing the normal instrumentation.

In issuing this STC the FAA required that the installation include a standby instrument package that is made up of a 2" standby attitude indicator, a 2" airspeed indicator, and a 2" altimeter.

MAGIC interface capabilities require a digital 429 navigation output (Garmin 430's or 530's supply this) and an S-TEC System FiftyFiveX autopilot. (The System FiftyFiveX STC for the Mirage is available as well). Interfaces for other manufacturers equipment may follow as engineering efforts continue.

The agreement between Meggitt Avionics/S-TEC and the New Piper Aircraft Company permits the use of this STC for 1997 and newer Mirage's by Piper Dealer/Distributors or their designated avionics affiliates who will buy a complete kit directly from NPAC. Mirage's built in 1996 and before may be upgraded by any MAGIC/S-TEC dealer.
