Flight Line Autopilot Test KitBob Austin Pubs Manager Meggitt Avionics/S-TEC has developed a flight line test kit designed to aid the technician with the troubleshooting process in the aircraft on the ramp. The first objective of a technician when evaluating a flight control system is to determine if the system is functioning properly. This is accomplished by performing a flight test evaluation or in some cases a functional ground test. Once a problem is identified, the second objective is to isolate the failure to a particular system component. The Flight Line Autopilot Test Kit consist of separate removable simulators designed to aid in this effort. The removable substitute boxes include a Heading System Simulator, Servo Simulator, Transducer Simulator, Turn Coordinator Simulator, and Adapter Cables. The test kit also includes a Flight Line Service Manual for rate based autopilot systems with system wiring diagrams and step by step troubleshooting procedures. This equipment is used in conjunction with the 9524 breakout box and 01264 System 55 Extender to measure autopilot system power, signals, and continuity. The 9524 is connected as show in Figure 1. The Flight Line Autopilot tester is now available for $1200 and ready to ship. If you would like additional information regarding the unit contact our technical support department.
