S-TEC's Kit Airplane Program

S-TEC for years has been the only autopilot manufacturer seriously interested in working with the builders of kit aircraft.

We keyed on this market segment at Oshkosh and aggressively pursued the kit airplane owner/builder. For an hour each day an S-TEC technical representative was in the Lancair tent talking to the Lancair builders from around the world. On Saturday we conducted a seminar for the Lancair builders at the Lancair Tent.

We promoted the S-TEC Kit Airplane Program, covered in the piece of literature enclosed with this newsletter. (Additional copies of this flyer are available for your usage. Just call and we'll send you a supply.)

As detailed in the "Oshkosh Report" column on Page 1, we talked to 144 kit airplane builders about the installation of an S-TEC in their plane. We talked about how they'd be better off with an S-TEC approved Flight Control System installation, and how they can buy the systems, component by component, from S-TEC dealers.

If you haven't focused your sales efforts on this market in your area, we'd suggest that you do so in the near future.

In the not too distant past, kit builders were people who built their own airplanes because it was a cost effective way to have their own airplane. Today, the average kit airplane is a highly sophisticated aircraft, costing well into six figures, with a panel full of the latest in avionics, instruments and usually a full capability autopilot.

As you study the Kit Airplane Program on the enclosed flyer, please call if you have questions. We'd be happy to help you sell S-TEC autopilots to the kitbuilder. All you have to do is ask. Call Sales to request quantities for your use.
